Food Trends in 2019

With the rise of support for local businesses and farms, we are seeing a lot of locally sourced items coming into our kitchens in 2019.  People are also being more health-conscious, so we are seeing a lot more plant-based dishes or smaller portion dishes.  They are also looking for ways to be clean & green – practices that are mindful of waste and plastics. Clients are looking for alternatives, such as compostable disposables like bamboo are on the rise.

More popular in weddings, we are noticing that instead of having a traditional buffet or plated meal, couples are looking for a more interactive experience for their guests. Culinary Action Stations are a fun way for attendees to customize their meal. Late Night Snacks, such as Sliders or Mini Pigs in a Blanket, are becoming a fun addition at the end of the evening. Also to enhance this experience, some brides will nix the traditional wedding cake and have a dessert experience, such as our Blazing Donuts.

With social media playing a huge role in day-to-day life, offering alcohol pairings with their menu items is a perfect photo opportunity. You can have mini beverages paired with hors d’oeuvres or a wine service with entrees.
